Scholarships That Change Futures: Lighting the Path for Rural and Tribal Students

Education is more than just classrooms—it is the gateway to dreams, dignity, and a better tomorrow. Yet in many rural and tribal areas, students often drop out after Class 8 due to financial barriers. To change this, scholarship support has become a lifeline for hundreds of children, ensuring that they continue their education and move towards a brighter future.

Supporting Tribal Students in Sonbhadra

Over the past 8–9 months, focused interventions have been made to reduce post-Class 8 dropouts and encourage tribal students to continue their education.In Sonbhadra alone, Class 9 enrollments more than doubled while we provided scholarships to students—marking a breakthrough in reducing dropouts and securing futures.

These efforts have significantly strengthened continuity in education, ensuring that tribal students move forward into higher classes with confidence.

Scholarships for Vocational Skills

Recognizing the importance of skill-based education, the Foundation has extended hundred percent scholarships to students pursuing ITI (Electrician – 2 years) across multiple regions. 27 students are continuing Across Sonbhadra, Nagpur, Bikaner, and urban cities, over 100 students are being supported in ITI and vocational programs, with many advancing into their 2nd years—building skills that translate directly into employability.”

School & Long-Term Scholarship Support

Scholarships are not one-time help—they are long-term commitments to children’s futures. Support has reached:

  • 150 students in Class 9
  • 80 students in Class 11
  • 25 students from the Prime Minister’s adopted villages, supported consistently for the past 3 years
  • 9 students from Bikaner

     

This sustained support has not only reduced dropouts but also created hope for families that once thought higher education was out of reach.

Overall Impact and Inclusion

With these interventions, over 300 students have been empowered through sustained scholarship support across Sonbhadra, Nagpur, Varanasi, Bikaner, and urban cities.

  • Dropouts reduced significantly in tribal areas
  • Girls’ education strengthened with targeted scholarships for female students
  • Vocational scholarships opened doors to employment
  • Long-term scholarships in PM-adopted villages ensured continuous learning.
