A Testament to Hope: Igniting Dreams in the Prime Minister’s Adopted Village Through Sports and Learning

Over the years, the Avaada Foundation has been at the heart of this transformation, nurturing education, culture, sports, and community well-being. The initiatives in the Prime Minister’s adopted village, Nagepur, Varanasi stand as a testament to how sustained efforts can bring hope, joy, and opportunity to an entire village.

Education & Skill Development

The Avaada Community Development Centre, established in a rented complex with five dedicated rooms, has become the village’s hub of learning.

  • Computer and coding classes under the Code Vidya Program compress six years of advanced coding into just six months. Over the last two years, 300 students have been trained, creating pathways to modern careers.

  • Subject-specific coaching by IIT teachers ensures quality academic support for students.

  • A vibrant library with ~1,500 books and a storytelling teacher promotes reading and creativity.

  • The Government Primary School in Nagepur was renovated with a smart board, new furniture, water tank, and a playground, along with innovative programs like Panini – Mind Opening.

  • Beyond infrastructure, 350 school bags for students and 10 for teachers were distributed, and 20 students were taken on a 3-day educational trip to Prayagraj.

  • A 16-day summer camp blended learning with fun through public speaking, mehendi, kajri gayan, cricket, kushti, kho-kho, badminton, and athletics.

Celebrating Talent & Youth Power

Nagepur has become a centre for youth engagement and recognition.

  • The Educational Excellence Competition saw participation from 1,200 students across 30 villages, with winners receiving prizes like ranger cycles and 36 useful gifts.

  • A community playground was developed, where special coaching has been provided for 8 months to prepare players for international-level competitions.

  • 55 tracksuits, 1,000 sports T-shirts, and coaching sessions have nurtured local talent.

  • International Yoga Day has been celebrated for 3 years with 1,000 student participants, spreading awareness of health and fitness.

  • Annual sports events include a five-day cricket tournament (30 teams), kushti competitions for ages 8–80, badminton matches, athletics, and seasonal sports programs.

Culture, Festivals & Community Bonding

Culture and tradition thrive when celebrated together. Avaada Foundation has brought new energy to Nagepur with large-scale events:

  • The Grand Diwali Mela – a festival for children featuring sports, games, and stalls run by kids themselves, turning it into a memorable community celebration.

  • The Inauguration Cultural Program – a one-of-its-kind event, marking the first time Nagepur hosted such a grand cultural celebration.

  • National days and festivals are regularly observed with the community, reinforcing unity and pride.

Health, Comfort & Well-being

Caring for the community goes hand in hand with progress.

  • 150 sweaters and 500 blankets were distributed to women, ensuring warmth and dignity in winter.

  • Annual blanket distribution drives continue to support vulnerable families.

  • Cleanliness & sanitation drives raise awareness and improve living standards.

  • Hundreds of ration bags distributed, with monthly ration and medicines provided to 10 needy individuals.

Nagepur: A Model of Inclusive Growth

From coding classrooms and cultural events to sports tournaments and social welfare drives, Avaada Foundation’s initiatives in Nagepur reflect a holistic vision of rural development.
