Opening Windows to Science & Technology for Those Who Once Only Dreamed: A visit to Planetarium, Observatory and cultural city

Avaada Foundation took over 260 students from project villages in, Bachau (Gujarat),Nagpur Shridhane (Maharashtra), and Karnisar Bhatiyan (Rajasthan) embarked on an unforgettable educational and cultural journey to Ujjain and the Dongla Planetarium in Madhya Pradesh. For many, it was their first time traveling outside their villages, their first long journey, and their first encounter with a world beyond textbooks.

The planetarium—set up by Avaada Foundation in collaboration with Acharya Varah Mihir Nyas at the site where the Tropic of Cancer passes—opened a new universe for these children. From night sky and dark sky shows to observatory visits and engaging science lectures that sparked curiosity and wonder and  learning came alive beyond classrooms.

  • The journey continued to Ujjain, the sacred city of Mahakal.
  • Standing before centuries of history and spiritual energy, students experienced a deep sense of culture, faith, and belonging.
  • It was a powerful reminder that education is not just about books—but about roots, values, and identity.

More than a trip, this experience became a moment of joy, discovery, and dreaming, leaving behind memories—and aspirations—that will last a lifetime. We know that sometimes, all a child needs is one journey—to believe that their dreams, like the stars, are within reach.
