When Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi adopted Jayapur village in Varanasi under the ‘Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana’, it marked the beginning of a new chapter of rural transformation. Since then, the Avaada Foundation has been working relentlessly to nurture Jayapur into a model village — one where education, empowerment, environment, and health come together to shape a brighter future.
Education: Nurturing Young Minds
Healthy communities begin with quality education, and Avaada Foundation continues to invest in creating learning opportunities for children and youth in Jayapur.
- Avaada Community Development Centre has been operating for the past 3 years with subject specific coaching from IITians teachers as a free learning hub, offering free tuition support for students from Grades 4 to 10.
- Computer Learning Centre with 24 systems has trained over 400 students without taking any fee and currently training 40 students in AI based in digital skills, with 30 students securing employment.
- Code Vidya Program, a six-month coding course, has empowered over 200 students in the last three years, enabling careers in laboratories, banks, corporates, pharmacies, and digital content creation.

Empowerment: Strengthening Communities
- Construction of five rooms for Knitting Centre has provided sustainable employment to 75 women for over a decade and was recently renovated by foundation.
- Through collaborations with women’s empowerment NGOs, 8 homemakers have found meaningful employment.
- Advanced Stitching and Crochet Centre has been training thousands of women, helping many become entrepreneurs.
- Distribution of stitching bags has supported aspiring women professionals in starting their livelihood journeys.
- Navkiran Beautician Centre trained 60 women, with several opening their own parlours and generating income through bridal makeover services.
- Job fairs attracted over 1,200 registrations and facilitated 250 placements, creating pathways to local employment.
- Career counselling, entrepreneurship, motivation, and cyber awareness sessions continue to prepare youth for future opportunities.
Environment and Sustainability
- Two 25 KW solar power plants provide clean and sustainable energy to the community.
- Annual tree plantation drives across schools, panchayats, anganwadis, and roadsides promote environmental conservation.
- Sustainability awareness campaigns encourage responsible use of natural resources and environmental stewardship.
Health and Well-being
- Health camps and leprosy & TB awareness sessions have benefited more than 500 villagers.
- Flood relief support provided medicines and fruits to 500 affected families.
- Nutrition assistance and monthly support of food and medicines continue to benefit vulnerable individuals.
- Healthy Baby Competition and mother guidance sessions promote maternal and child health.
- Annual International Yoga Day celebrations have reached over 10,000 beneficiaries, spreading awareness of holistic well-being.
- Regular Cleanliness and sanitation campaigns continue to strengthen community health and hygiene.
- Free Kumbh Mela visits for villagers have enriched community life and cultural participation.
