The first few days of a newborn’s life are delicate. During this time, a mother’s warmth, care and closeness can make a meaningful difference. Recognising this need, Avaada Group’s CSR has renovated and upgraded Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) wards at three government health facilities in Sonbhadra.

Avaada Foundation has completed this maternal and newborn healthcare initiative at District Hospital Sonbhadra, CHC Nangwa and PHC Chatra.

We renovated and painted the maternity wards to create clean, comfortable and dignified spaces for mothers and their newborns. The upgraded wards now have semi-Fowler beds with mattresses, maternity and KMC chairs, attendant chairs, air conditioners, partition curtains, window curtains and other medical equipment.

To strengthen newborn care, we also provided baby blankets, baby-care kits, front-open gowns and other essentials. Tablets with SIM and data connectivity, along with informative IEC posters, will support awareness, communication and better care practices.

This initiative goes beyond infrastructure. It gives mothers a safer space to hold their babies close, helps families feel supported during their most vulnerable moments and strengthens rural healthcare infrastructure in Sonbhadra.

Through this CSR healthcare initiative, Avaada Group continues to improve community health, maternal healthcare and neonatal care in underserved areas. Every renovated room, comfortable chair and baby-care essential carries a simple promise: no mother or newborn should feel alone when they need care the most.
