When 47-year-old Ramabai Ranveer ran barefoot in a sari, she was not running for a medal. She was running to secure her daughter’s education.

A widow from Ambajogai in Maharashtra’s Beed district, Ramabai participated in a marathon and won ₹3,000 to pay her daughter’s college fees. Her determination touched millions and showed the extraordinary strength of a mother who refused to let financial hardship limit her daughter’s dreams.

Avaada Foundation honoured her inspiring journey with the “Avaada Naari Shakti Samman”, a memento and financial assistance of ₹51,000. But our support does not end with this recognition. We have committed to sponsoring the educational expenses of Ramabai’s daughters and providing them with the academic guidance they need. We also provided a laptop to her elder daughter, Aarti, who is pursuing a B.Sc. in Nanded.

Ramabai’s story reflects the true meaning of women empowerment and girls’ education. She proved that courage does not always make noise—sometimes, it runs silently on tired, bare feet toward a child’s brighter future.
