Avaada Foundation Promotes Women Empowerment Through Skill Development and Crochet Entrepreneurship

At Avaada Foundation, we are continuously empowering women through skill development, entrepreneurship, and livelihood generation under our community development initiatives. We believe that when women gain skills and confidence, entire families and communities progress.

We have been training women in a wide range of traditional and modern skills, including diya making, stitching, advanced tailoring, jute product manufacturing, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship. While embracing new opportunities, we are also reviving valuable skills that were once an integral part of our mothers’ and grandmothers’ lives.

Recognizing the growing demand for handmade crochet products, we have introduced specialized crochet training programs at our Community Development Centres. At our Prime Minister’s adopted village, Jayapur, Varanasi, and at our Tarsi Community Development Centre in Nagpur, we have been training women to create market-ready crochet products such as keychains, bouquets, flowers, wristbands, friendship bands, handbags, mobile covers, and decorative items.

Beyond skill training, we have been providing marketing linkages and business exposure to help women become self-reliant entrepreneurs. Women from our centres showcased their handmade products through dedicated stalls at the leadership meets, where their creativity and craftsmanship received tremendous appreciation. Our investors and visitors highly admired the products, encouraging the women to expand their entrepreneurial journey.

Many participants have successfully sold their creations and generated income, transforming their skills into sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through these initiatives, we are not only preserving traditional craftsmanship but also helping women participate in emerging market trends and build financial independence.

At Avaada Foundation, we continue to create pathways for women to learn, earn, and lead, ensuring that talent, creativity, and determination translate into lasting economic empowerment.
