Empowering Women: Avaada Foundation’s Self-Defence Workshop a Resounding Success

In a significant stride towards empowering women, the Avaada Foundation recently concluded a
two-day self-defence workshop designed exclusively for the female employees of the Energy
Department. The event, which took place on October 5th and 6th 2023, in the historic cities of
Ajmer and Jaipur, Rajasthan, stands as a significant milestone in personal safety training.

The workshop was meticulously designed to instill confidence and equip participants with
essential self-defence skills. The comprehensive program covered a spectrum of vital
techniques for self-protection, strategies for personal safety, and raised awareness about
potential risks in various scenarios.

A key highlight of the workshop was the expertise brought in by Mr. Rajendra Niar, a former
TATA employee turned self-defence instructor. Mr. Niar, known for his proficiency in self-
defence tactics, facilitated the training sessions. His approach, combining practical skills with an
understanding of the challenges faced by women in their daily lives, was widely appreciated.

Participants received hands-on training in various self-defence techniques that are easy to
remember and execute. These sessions were not just about physical training but also focused
on developing a mindset that prioritizes safety. Mr. Niar emphasized the significance of
awareness, intuition, and assertiveness as crucial elements of effective self-defence.

The response to the workshop was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressed a
newfound sense of confidence and empowerment. They highlighted the practicality and
relevance of the skills acquired during the training. The sessions also fostered a sense of
camaraderie among the participants, as they shared experiences and encouraged one another.

The Avaada Foundation’s initiative is a testament to its commitment to creating safer
environments for women. Through the provision of valuable training, the foundation not only
equips women with self-defence skills but also contributes to their overall well-being and
confidence enhancing their abilities, in both professional and personal spheres.

The success of this workshop has paved the way for future training programs, underscoring the
necessity and demand for such initiatives. The Avaada Foundation is dedicated to continuing its
efforts in this direction, with a commitment to reaching more women and providing them with the
knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves effectively.
