In Badnu, Bikaner, young girls are proving that talent does not depend on geography. With courage, discipline and the right opportunity, these rural daughters have travelled from village grounds to state championships and national cricket arenas.
Avaada Foundation, the social-impact arm of Avaada Group, supports the Rajasthan State-Level Under-17 and Under-19 Girls’ Cricket Teams through its rural sports development and girls’ empowerment initiative. Avaada Group CSR Head Ms. Ritu Patwari met the players, listened to their journeys and renewed the MoU for the third consecutive year. This partnership represents more than sponsorship; it protects their education and strengthens their dreams.
Avaada Group’s CSR support covers travel, nutritious food, sports kits, shoes, cricket equipment, tournament fees, practice facilities, logistics, study materials and educational expenses. This complete support allows the girls to study while training and competing with confidence.
Seven Badnu players helped Bikaner win the district competition and the Rajasthan State-Level Under-17 Cricket Tournament. Kanchan later represented Rajasthan at the National Championship in Rohtak and helped secure a silver medal.
Six Badnu players powered the Under-19 team to the state runner-up position in Balotra and qualification for the National Championship in Shivpuri. Sarita earned the Best Bowler title, while Sarita and Kanchan achieved national selection twice. Sangeeta won bronze, and Kanchan secured silver at the national level.
In another remarkable milestone, Delhi Capitals selected five girls from the school as Women’s Premier League net bowlers—taking grassroots cricket talent from a village field to one of India’s biggest sporting platforms.
These girls are not only winning matches; they are breaking social and financial barriers.
