Every morning, more than a thousand aspirations begin their journey towards wider horizons because, for many children from the remote and tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand, going to school is no longer a daily struggle. Today, they begin their day with greater certainty, dignity, and hope.
At Avaada Foundation, we believe that before improving classrooms, we must first ensure that children can safely reach them. While many CSR initiatives focus primarily on educational infrastructure, our approach has been to strengthen accessibility to education itself, because a school building creates impact only when children are able to enter it consistently and safely. Through our school transportation initiative, we are working to bridge this critical gap in rural and tribal education.
As part of this effort, we have deployed five 42-seater school buses across underserved regions including Betul, Mahidpur, Raisen, Bankhedi, and Siyarmau in Madhya Pradesh, along with one additional bus in Manduwala, Uttarakhand. These buses are supporting children from remote tribal villages by providing safe and reliable daily transportation to schools, significantly reducing travel-related challenges for both students and their families.
In Betul district alone, more than 540 students from nearly 18 villages are now able to attend school regularly through this initiative. Similarly, in the Mahidpur region of Ujjain district, over 550 children have gained dependable access to education despite earlier challenges related to distance and limited rural connectivity.
However, the impact of these buses extends far beyond transportation. Improved attendance, better punctuality, increased classroom participation, and greater parental confidence are gradually creating stronger educational ecosystems within these communities. For many families, the assurance that their children can travel safely to school each day has renewed their belief in the transformative power of education.
As we continue to expand our renewable energy footprint across India, I strongly believe that sustainable development must also include investing in human potential. Access to education remains one of the most powerful enablers of long-term social transformation, particularly in rural and tribal regions.
For us, every school bus is more than a vehicle, it’s a pathway towards inclusion, opportunity, and a more equitable future.
