A school in Dongla, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh where Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi once studied with limited resources is now becoming a centre of modern learning, inspiring a new generation to dream bigger.
Inspired by the vision of Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, and under the leadership of Ritu Patwari, CSR Head of Avaada Group, Avaada Foundation is transforming rural education by bringing quality learning opportunities to children in remote villages.
From Simple Classrooms to Modern Learning
To honour the school’s remarkable legacy, Avaada Foundation has constructed an entire new floor with three rooms and established:
- Tinkering Lab: Encouraging creativity, innovation and practical learning.
- Astronomy Lab: Helping children explore space, planets and scientific discoveries.
- Advanced Computer Lab: Building digital literacy and essential technology skills.
Bringing the Universe Closer to Rural Children
Dongla, Madhya Pradesh, holds special geographical and astronomical importance as the Tropic of Cancer passes through this region. Recognising this significance, Avaada Foundation has also established a planetarium in collaboration with Acharya Varahamihir Nyas, which is right in front of this school, bringing astronomy and scientific learning closer to village children.
No Child Should Miss School Because of Distance
Understanding the challenges faced by rural families, Avaada Foundation has donated a school bus, enabling 540 students from nearly 18 villages to attend school regularly and safely.
The Foundation also distributed 550 school bags to students and 100 bags to teachers last year, continuing its commitment to supporting everyday educational needs.
