Beyond Renewable Energy- Empowering Communities in Banka, Bihar

At Avaada Foundation, we believe sustainability is not limited to clean energy generation, it is equally about empowering the communities that grow alongside us. In Banka district of Bihar, where Avaada Group operates its 50 MW Solar Power Project in Mangra village, the Foundation has been working closely with nearby communities to strengthen education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and rural wellbeing.

Across the project villages of Mangra, Ghurdujwadi, and Karijhank, we have undertaken several community-focused initiatives aimed at creating meaningful and measurable social impact. In the field of education, innovative “Best from Waste” classroom benches were developed using repurposed solar module wooden pallets, benefitting nearly 130 school students while promoting sustainable waste management practices. Initiatives like distribution of School bag kits, sports materials, fun-learning books, and cyber safety awareness sessions have helped to improve learning environments and encourage holistic child development in rural schools.

Recognizing the importance of safe drinking water for children, we installed Water RO System at the Primary School in Mangra village to ensure access to clean and hygienic drinking water. This is driving improved health, hygiene awareness, and better school experiences for students.

For us healthcare and livelihood support initiatives continue to be an indispensable development element. Avaada Foundation organized a blood donation camp in Banka district to support local healthcare needs and conducted a mega veterinary medical camp for marginalized cattle farmers. Under the camp, nearly 410 livestock animals received free health check-ups, medicines, and veterinary consultation services, directly supporting rural livelihoods and livestock health management.

Under the empathic vison of top leadership, 250 warm blankets were distributed among vulnerable community members to provide relief during harsh weather conditions.

Environmental sustainability and community participation were further strengthened through annual Chhath Puja cleanliness and beautification drives around community Ghats. The initiative benefitted nearly 2,000 residents by promoting cleaner public spaces and stronger community engagement.

Through these integrated interventions, we at Avaada Foundation are working towards redefining the role of corporate social responsibility in India’s clean energy transition. The Foundation believes that true sustainability is achieved not only through renewable energy generation, but through the creation of resilient communities that are educated, healthy, environmentally conscious, and economically empowered. By aligning grassroots development with climate-conscious growth, Avaada Foundation continues to build a model where infrastructure development and community transformation progress together, creating long-term social value alongside India’s journey towards a more sustainable future.
